Splurge on Spirits ? Try these…

Today, the Bar Brigade team profiles the most expensive spirits available in the market. So if you do have the bank to splurge check these out and marvel your showcase. It is sure to catch eyeballs.

Diva Vodka
Price: $1,060,000

This bottle of vodka hails from Scotland and its price is the result of how much “bling” you want your bottle to have. The bottle can be encrusted with precious gems: diamonds, rubies, sapphires, etc. Blackwood Distillers makes this triple distilled vodka that is ice-filtered through Nordic birch charcoal and then for some reason is passed through a sand of crushed diamonds and other gems.

Spluch Tequila

Spluch Tequila
Price $255,000 –

The bottle is made of solid platinum and white gold which was unveiled in Mexico City on October 26, 2006. The bottle was purchased by a private collector on July 20, 2006. As a result of the sale, the Tequila Ley .925 company broke the Guinness World Records for the most expensive bottle of liquor sold.

Chateau LafiteChateau Lafite 1787
Price: $ 160,000
This bottle originally purchased from France by Thomas Jefferson, who was an avid wine collector. This bottle is a Bordeaux and was sold at an auction in 1985 to Christopher Forbes. Much of the value comes from the fact that Thomas Jefferson once owned this bottle — his initials are etched into it.

Macallan 1946
Price – $460,000

MacallanThis bottle of single malt whiskey in a LaliqueCire Perdue decanter was sold in 2010 at an auction, with the proceeds going to charity. This whiskey is unusual in that it was made with peated malt because of the then-prohibitive prices of coal that shot up because of World War II. This is a classic Macallan and one of the best ever released.

Isabella’s Islay

Isabellas ISlay

Price: $ 6.2 Million
The extremely luxurious bottle is essentially a bespoke English Crystal decanter that is adorned with a whopping 8500 diamonds and even features a handsome amount of white gold, along with a generous spread of some 300 rubies encrusted all over the bottle.

Germany vs USA or Beer vs Football

Guys as the World Cup fever continues, today’s game is a big cracker.

Germany vs USA

We also know the great Jurgen Klinsman a good ole German foe managing the USA today against his country.

Our prediction In stoppage time, Germany steals one and wins 2-1 to win the Group of Death and wins its ticket to the Round of 16. In Joachim Loew we trust.

Apart from the exciting football prospects lying ahead, another common pass time for the Americans and Germans is the beer drinking culture. What better way to enjoy the football or soccer may I say 😉 today with pints of beers. Today there will be several billion litres of beer guzzled down throats all over the world.

Not sure if it works well in India, today Bar Brigade, will help you select your beer for the night.

For the German Contingent, although not many authentic German brews are yet available in India, you might just find the Schneider Weisse with an exclusive distributor in your city.

Schneider Weisse is  Full-bodied, slightly fruity with a mild bitter after taste – the perfect way to wash down all that bratwurst. (the german sausage delicacy)

If not you can try out the brews from neighboring Belgium, completely inspired by the German style. We suggest Hoegaarden and the Stella Artois.

Hoegaarden that creamy Belgian wheat beer hits a home run with its hints of orange peel, coriander and spice.

Stella Artois is the six-century-old Belgian brew comes with a whole set of pouring rituals – and a chalice – but the light, full-bodied taste is worth it.

Now we also have an option for all the non alcoholic drinkers. Relish the premium and refreshing taste of the Bavaria Malt Regular which is a 100% non-alcoholic beverage with the taste of regular beer. Prepared from highly nutritious ingredients, this beer-like drink prevents you from growing a beer belly. The smooth and enamouring taste of this chilled Bavaria drink will instantly freshen up your senses.

There will surely be the American fans and everyone knows of the best American Beer available in market- The Budweiser, beyond its fresh, light taste, the single best reason to drink Bud is to transport you back to those good old college days.

So put on that bucket hat, enjoy the match tonight and do not forget to guzzle down a few beers while cheering for your team.

Octopus Oracle predicts a tie, lets hope its not.

Cheers !!!

Beer and its several uses !!!

Did you know Beer has its Unusual Uses !

Beer is an American staple in most homes. Whether it’s the leftover bottles from the game, the party, or maybe you just like to relax with a cold one after a hard day, beer seems to find a home in most fridges. But does it have any other uses? You bet it does!

Control the pests: Placing open jars or plates full of beer by your precious plants outside will trap slugs and snails, killing them before they can grab your greens. The slimy little suckers are drawn in by the smell of the beer, and will climb right in!

Contain fruit flies: Caught some fruit flies in the house when you left an apple on the counter before vacation? No problem. Pour a can of beer into an open glass, then cover with plastic wrap. Punch a tiny hole in the top with a toothpick. The flies will be drawn in, but won’t be able to get back out!

Fertilize your garden: Pour any leftover beer at the bottom of your glass into your garden; your plants like the sugars in it almost as much as you do. You can also use it to remove unwanted  mushrooms and feed your grass at the same time. Just pour a beer over the infected area. The alcohol will kill the fungus and feed the grass you want to keep.

Condition and clean your hair: Pour a can of cheap beer over your hair once a week right after you’ve washed it. It will soak into the strands and revitalize your hair from the roots. Gets out the hair products you’ve been using all week!

Polish pots and pans: Take a buffer rag and rub a little beer into your brass, pots, pans, or even wood furniture. It polishes and shines, without any harsh chemicals!

Remove that rusty bolt: If a rusty bolt is giving you some trouble, pour beer over it. The acids and bubbles can help clear away enough of the rust for your to remove the bolt and move on with your day.

Soak it up: Soaking your tired feet in cold beer can make them feel better. Just pour it into a bowl and dip your piggies in. You can also add a can of beer to your bathtub full of water for a relaxing soak without spending the money for expensive bubble baths and bath salts.

Remove coffee or tea stains from your clothes: Also works for rugs and carpets! Rub a little beer in and let it soak before washing your clothes or your carpet. It will get the spot right out!

Vodka spiked Watermelon Slices at your next House Party ?

Want to impress your friends at your next house party. Here is one innovative way and your friends will love you for this. All you need is a watermelon a metal cork/ knife & a bottle of vodka or the spirit you prefer.

  • Buy a watermelon and a 375 ml bottle of vodka.
  • Cut a circle in the watermelon so you can see the fruit
  • Open the vodka bottle, insert the open bottle with good force into the area you cut.
  • Let the vodka bottle sit for a while. Do this until the entire bottle has been absorbed into the fruit. Depending on the watermelon this may take a while.
  • Wait a little longer after the bottle is empty, so you can ensure that the vodka can absorb all into the watermelon to make it have a good flavor.spike watermelon
  • Cut the watermelon & enjoy!
  • If you need to transport the watermelon some where, put a cork in the hole you cut so you will not spill any.

Guys tonight you can Celebrate Father’s Day and Fifa World cup with God Father our Special Edition Cocktail

Celebrate Father’s Day and Fifa World Cup with – God Father

England vs Italy on Father’s Day = God Father

The Godfather, the cocktail, is a marriage of sweet Italian amaretto and Scotch whiskey built over ice cubes. The amaretto imparts a delicate almond flavor, which is absorbed completely by the sweet woody taste of the malty tang of Scotch. The drink was the favorite cocktail of American actor Marlon Brando, Who starred as God Father in the film.

60 ml shot Blended Scotch whisky
30 ml shot Amaretto liqueur (almond liqueur- from Italy)
